How Diamonds are formed
Diamonds are formed deep within the Earth where it's very hot and there is a lot of pressure. It is this combination of high temperature and high pressure that is necessary to form diamond crystals. The crystals are made of carbon so they form as carbon atoms under a high temperature and pressure; they bond together to start growing crystals. The diamonds that are mined and present at the earth’s surface were likely brought up by volcanic activity at some point.

Diamond Cuts
When a diamond is cut it is not just to give it a desired shape. How the diamond is cut makes a huge difference in the final quality of the stone and can make or break a piece of jewelry. Correctly cutting the diamond to a proportional depth and width as well as the symmetry or number of facets will make a diamond light up with fire and brilliance.
